About The Facility:
The faciliuty is a 59-bed Skilled Nursing Facility dedicated to delivering quality, person-centered care. While part of a larger campus, we are solely focused on maintaining our current resident population of around 30, prioritizing quality over growth. After an extensive overhaul of processes and standards, our goal is to excel in the upcoming survey in January 2025. We are looking for an experienced Director of Nursing to lead our clinical team and continue the momentum toward exceptional resident care.
Position Overview:
The Director of Nursing will be responsible for leading the facilities nursing services, combining hands-on nursing with strategic leadership to maintain and elevate our standards. This role requires a leader comfortable working on the floor as the Day Shift RN, coordinating care plans, and ensuring regulatory compliance across all nursing functions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure high-quality customer service to residents, families, and staff, fostering a supportive and compassionate environment.
- Recruit, hire, schedule, and oversee nursing staff, ensuring compliance with all Federal, State, and organizational standards.
- Lead and supervise 24-hour nursing care, resident admissions, transfers, and discharges in coordination with other departments.
- Manage and monitor Medicare, Medi-Cal, and HMO contract utilization, ensuring adherence to protocols.
- Facilitate interdisciplinary care plan meetings and oversee thorough documentation in resident health records, including scheduled audits.
- Contribute to budget planning, service fee structuring, and cost-effective resource management.
- Provide orientation and ongoing in-service education for nursing staff to foster professional development.
- Oversee the State and Federal survey process, working closely with Quality Assurance to implement corrective actions as needed.
- Continuously refine nursing policies and procedures to support a safe, stimulating, and uplifting environment for residents and staff.
Who We’re Looking For:
- Must have prior DON experience in a Skilled Nursing Facility (SNF).
- Ideally holds a BSN (Bachelor of Science in Nursing), but open to candidates with an RN license.
- Skilled in wound care and comfortable working the floor, managing client interactions, and performing direct patient care (DPC).
- A hands-on, adaptable leader ready to meet urgent needs and committed to high-quality resident care.
